Switzerland was labeled the most expensive country for developers
August 03, 2010According to experts, the cost of residential and commercial property construction in the country is the highest in the world.
Swiss construction industry has successfully survived the global recession: building expenses not only did not decline, but increased due to higher prices of construction materials and labor.
In the ranking of countries most expensive for developers’ activity in the world, Switzerland has outperformed its northern neighbors - Denmark and Finland, which occupy second and third places, respectively. Ireland is situated on the fourth line, where, despite the crisis in the building industry, construction still remains quite costly. Fifth place is occupied by Australia, which, similar to Switzerland, has hardly felt any effects of the economic crisis.
Bahrain, Sweden, Germany, Singapore and the UAE are also in the TOP-10, according to a report by the EC Harris consultancy. Russia has occupied the 37th out of 50 available positions.
