The U.S. market of “green” property is expected to soar by 150%
July 23, 2010According to the experts, the total market value of environmentally-friendly buildings in the country will increase from the current $71.1 billion to $173 billion in 2015.
In the segment of commercial property, the growth will amount to 18.1%, with values working out $81.8 billion, the Realtor edition informs with reference to the research presented by EL Company.
Analysts believe that active development of the “eco-property” market will be fuelled by government initiatives and specialized funds, which will provide grants for the use of environmentally-friendly building technologies.
It is noted that construction of such properties would be more costly for developers, but buyers will eventually win: “green” technology will help saving on the consumption of electricity and thermal energy.
