Primary housing sales increase in Vilnius
July 15, 2010Over the first half of 2010, transactions with new apartments in Lithuanian capital have skyrocketed by 47% compared to the same period last year.
Average transaction prices have also increased - by 2% in economy-class segment (€800-1300 per a sq. m), by 3% in the medium price segment (€1300-1800 per a sq. m), while climbing up by 1% in the premium-class segment (from €1800 per a sq. m.).
The number of apartments offered on the Vilnius primary market has plunged by 33%, The Baltic Course says with reference to the Register Center.
It is noted that the share of primary apartments in Vilnius works out 27% of the total number of transactions, whereas in other major cities of Lithuania - Kaunas and Klaipeda - only 3% and 6%, respectively.
