Modest increases in British housing prices

July 07, 2010

In June, residential property values in the country rose by only 0.1% on the previous month.

May increase was also quite insignificant - 0.5% on a monthly basis, according to a report by the UK's largest building society - Nationwide.

In June, the average cost of UK housing has amounted to £170.1 thousand (€205.8 thousand), while working out £169.2 thousand (€204.7 thousand) in May. Compared with the same months of 2009, prices have climbed up by 8.7% and 9.8%, respectively. We would like to remind you that in April, annual two-digit growth (10.5%) was registered for the first time in three years.

In general, over the first half of 2010, UK residential property values have increased by 3%.
