Lithuanian apartments continue to depreciate
March 18, 2010The index of apartment prices in five nation’s first-tier cities have declined by 1.4%, February to January.
The sharpest decrease has been observed in Kaunas, where the prices have climbed down by 2.9%. Apartment prices have decreased by 1.2% and 0.7% in Vilnius and Klaipeda, respectively, while remaining stable in Siauliai and Panevezys.
In comparison to February 2009, Lithuanian apartments have dramatically depreciated by 23.2%, while plunging by 39.4% in comparison to December 2007 peaks, according to the by Ober-Haus Company.
It is also noted that the level of monthly price declines registered in January has been less significant than in February, and has amounted to 0.8%.
